Number 90 on the Wine.com 100 of 2007! Varietals: Pinot Noir (85%), Petite Sirah (8%), Grenache (7%)
The Limited Release Pinot Noir is rich in both color and fragrance. This medium-bodied wine displays vibrant aromas of black cherry, ripe raspberry and strawberry as well as bright red fruit flavors that are balanced with hints of tar, leather and vanilla. This cool climate Pinot Noir has an interminable finish.
Enjoy with smoked duck breast, beet and endive salad, or roast pork shoulder with prune, apple and pistachio stuffing.

I would buy this wine again
I am a novice when it comes to wines but I know a good wine when I taste it. I had originally bought this wine for thanksgiving dinner but ended up having it with Indian food and I must say I was highly impressed. Indian food is so rich and spicy that it is not easy to pair wines with it. I agree with reviewer no. 1, this wine is smooth. Not sure about wine jargon, I would describe Concannon Pinot Noir Limited Release 2005 as smooth and complex. Cannot be beat for less than $15.

I would buy this wine again
Tonight I was browsing my wine bar and decided to open a bottle of Concannon Limited Release Pinot Noir 2005. I think I was inspired to purchase this wine by a story on Women & Wine Radio. I have to say that I am impressed. When I opened the wine, the first thing that impressed me was the cork. It is really quite pretty with the vineyard logo imprinted on it. But when I poured it, I noticed what a beautiful ruby colour it was, and it looked so nice in the glass. Plus, with a glass now out of the bottle, the embossing of the logo on the bottle was more easily visible, also quite pretty. But really what counts is the taste, right? This is SMOOTH. I am sipping it and it is just lovely. So if you are ever in the Livermore Valley, or if you are shopping here on wine.com, I highly recommend it!!
