Columbia Crest Grand Estates Shiraz 2002
Syrah/Shiraz
from Columbia Valley, Washington
winemaker's notes:
Number 66 on the Wine.com 100 of 2007!
White pepper, strawberry and freshly plucked rose
petals meld with exotic spice notes to create a complex,
balanced wine with a full mouthfeel and supple finish.
"Very fruity, youthful and packed with brambly berry flavors. Tart, tangy and loaded with berries and cherries, this racy, snappy effort shows surprising depth and weight for its modest price point. There's a nice lick of vanilla in the soft, lush finish."

There's so much butter in this bottle - it was seriously like popping fresh popcorn. Absolutely amazing. Hints of cherry and leather emerge, with tobacco on the (fairly short) finish. Would definitely recommend.
