Dark ruby in color like a garnet, the 2007 Merlot offers aromas of complex black fruit, and Mediterranean spices, black olives, and a hint of toast. This full bodied wine is packed with intense black fruit flavors, as well as notes of spice, and a hint of toast. The mouthfeel is rich, with a solid middle and a silky, lingering finish. A wonderful wine for festive meals.
"A very pretty Merlot, and a good price for the elegant quality. It’s dry and tannic, showing the Clos du Val style of controlled, somewhat aloof ripeness. There’s a rich, attractive core of black cherry fruit. Will develop for a few years, but it’s really best now, with a brief decant."
