Winemaker's Notes

The quality of the second label is unquestionably better than some of Bordeaux's famed in 1855 classification's second and third growths. This wine boasts a thick black/purple color as well as a huge, soaring set of aromatics consisting of cherry liqueur and black currants. The wine is thick, rich, and marvelously well balanced and long in mouth.

"A superb effort, the 1998 exhibits abundant quantities of black currant and cherry fruit subtley dosed with toasty oak. A medium to full-bodied, nicely-textured, pure effort, with a moderately tannic finish. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2014."
