Clos du Bois Dry Creek Reserve Zinfandel 2001
Zinfandel
from Sonoma County, California
winemaker's notes:
"What a classic Dry Creek Zin. Good, rich color leads to aromas of wild berries, herbs and telltale aroma of brambles, like sun-warmed berry bushes in a thorny patch on a hot day. Brilliant and pure in the mouth, lush and ripe in flavor and dry tannins, but keeps Zin's wild, succulent edge."
-Wine Enthusiast
Dense aromas and and flavors of blackberries are complemented by toasty vanilla nuances with spicy black pepper accenting the finish. A small amount of Tempranillo, aged in new French oak, was used to enhance the forward fruit flavors and complexity of the wine.
