Deep purple color; Full-bodied; Complex and ripe nose with dark fruit and vanilla; Juicy & dense palate with a solid core of fruit (currant, blackberry, black cherry); Also detected coffee, chocolate & a light touch of cedar oak; Decanted/Aerated for about an hour, which made it open up nicely; Great depth and balance; Lengthy, slightly tannic finish. This was an older vintage than I am used to drinking, so I didn't know what to expect, but drank really well....thoroughly enjoyed it with filet mignon and stuffed mushrooms. Still have another bottle...guess I have to drink it soon!!
