We offer two ways to locate information:
We have added the following products to your shopping cart from a previous visit:
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
The wine's violet color is so superbly deep and dense that it is almost opaque, an eloquent sign of the maturity that is typical of the 2005 vintage. A ripe fruitiness of blackberries and black cherry jam is balanced by the mentholated and lively, fresh notes of a mature harvest. In the mouth, vibrant tannins give the wine a sound and tight structure, and the mid-palate shows great texture which is made for aging. A mouth-watering finish is long and generous, prolonging the wine's flavor. Tannins and acidity contribute significantly to its impressive structure. This is a superb wine which requires time: about five to eight years will bring out a more complex range of aromas. It will be ideal with the flavorful game meats generally found in the winter season.
"This is the greatest Cotes de Castillon I have ever tasted. The 2005 Clos les Lunelles is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Inky/purple to the rim, the stunningly flamboyant perfume offers up scents of black fruits, spring flowers, and crushed rocks. The wine hits the palate with unbelievable concentration, full-bodied power, beautifully integrated acidity, tannin, wood, and alcohol, a layered, multidimensional mouthfeel, and a finish that lasts for nearly 45 seconds. This superb achievement is a tour de force in winemaking. Drink it over the next 15+ years."
The Wine Advocate
"Shows wonderful aromas of crushed blackberry and blueberry, with hints of mint. Full-bodied, with soft, round tannins and a long, delicious aftertaste. Generous and beautiful. Best after 2012."
"Bright, full ruby-red. Very ripe, wild aromas of black raspberry, truffle, game and beefsteak tomato. Lush, fat, sweet and impressively rich, with explosive dark fruit, mocha, leather and meat flavors. In a distinctly full-blown style, but with considerable soil character. Today the tannins are virtually invisible and the finish shows terrific aromatic persistence, but I would not be at all surprised if this packed 2005 shuts down in the bottle."

In 2001, Chateau Lapeyronie, now known as Clos Les Lunelles, came out of relative obscurity with the help of Gerard Perse's magic wand (according to Robert Parker's expression). This small (8.5 hectare) Cotes de Castillon estate proved its incredible potential by earning a 93-100 mark from the famous American wine critic for Perse's first vintage.
