Each year, Oakley Five Reds is a unique red blend that is easy drinking and medium bodied with the spicy berry flavors that want in their Zinfandels. The Rhone varietals add pepper, cherry and dark fruit character. The wine has smooth tannins and luscious fruit and should age well into the future.
The 2006 is a blend of 74% Merlot, 7% Barbera, 6% Cabernet Franc, 3% Syrah, and 1% Mourvèdre. Flavors of blackberries, black pepper and a delicate green olive note which makes this wine an excellent accompaniment to spicy western grub or tomato-based dishes. Round up your posse and enjoy!
The Wine Maker's Notes are so right on the money describing this wine. It's very good and the price is absolutely unbelievable for the quality. Enjoy this one!
Easy drinking and smooth. Notes are good as the blackberry stood out. Nice wine for picnic. Can't wait to try other vintages.
We love this as an everyday, cheap, red table wine. You won't find a better everyday drinker.

There are a slew of wines under $10 that have the tasting profile of this one. Up front, the taste is a well blended, lightly oakey red table wine. The finish however, is too bitter for my tastes. That finish just hangs around in my mouth for too long. Find another wine in the $12 range.
