The 2009 Ancient Vines Zinfandel shows wonderful, fat strawberry, with coffee and chocolate characters. Aging in new and used wood has lent this wine a subtle vanilla quality that nicely complements the explosive fruit notes.
Our Zinfandel pairs well with New York steak, red and white pasta sauces, spicy and barbecued dishes or turkey with all the trimmings. Enjoy now or cellar for up to three years.
"Medium red. Musky berries, roast coffee and a whiff of maple syrup on the nose. Creamy-sweet in an old-vines way, showing good breadth to its dark berry, chocolate and coffee flavors. Finishes with smooth tannins and a peppery nuance. Very ripe zinfandel but could use more primary fruit and lift. "
