winemaker's notes:
This varietal comes from the Northern Rhône Valley in France.
Presumed to have arrived from Dalmatia and transported to the Rhone 1,700
years ago by Romans. There are only 2,000 acres of this variety in California at
this time. Viognier is known for its perfumed aromas and ripe fruit flavors.
Cline Viognier shows big pineapple, peach and apricot flavors mixed with
citrus and floral notes. This full-bodied flavorful wine is an
excellent match for Mediterranean stews, Thai curry and spicy Mexican dishes.
I would buy this wine again
As the reviewer before me said, this isn't a very complex wine. However, for the price, it is wonderful. Drink this one super cold, if it's too warm it's too sweet. My sister, who only likes Reisling, likes this one. It's a nice crowd pleaser because it is slightly sweet, but not too much so. Drink with seafood, cream-based dishes, and salads.
