Long, fine-grained tannins are balanced within an elegant varietal expression. The chalky but not dry extract complements the remarkably feminine composure of this vineyard. The Brookman site is dogeared with sustained softness and plushness which makes for a beautifully understated and vivid expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Wine Advocate - "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Brookman Vineyard offers aromas of pain grille, spice box, black currants, and blackberry liqueur. Made in a forward style, it has layers of spicy fruit, soft tannins, and impeccable balance. It can be enjoyed near term but will provide pleasure through 2020. "
Wine Enthusiast - " This firmly tannic wine starts off with aromas of leather and blackberry more than cassis, then follows up with flavors of sweet-tasting ripe fruit and caramelized oak, hints of bacon and brown sugar. Give it until about 2010 for the tannins to soften, then drink through 2020. "
International Wine Cellar - "Inky purple. Peppery cassis, boysenberry and plum on the nose, plus a strong peppery accent. Bitter cherry and sweet dark berry liqueur flavors are deep and velvety, but with some tart finishing acidity. Youthfully taut in the middle palate but opens up on the sweet, tangy, spicy finish."

Clarendon Hills is a small family-run winery based in Clarendon, South Australia. The company was founded by biochemist, Roman Bratasiuk, in 1990. The story of Clarendon Hills is one of passion, dedication and commitment to exception wine. It all began when this biochemist and wine lover decided to produce his own wine. Though he'd never trained as a winemaker, Roman let himself be guided by his refined palate and scientific knowledge. Alcohol By Volume GuideMost wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer.
