Great with food. Not so great without... - 3/15/2008

I would buy this wine again
I would buy this wine again if I understood how reds age, in particular how Merlots age. It tasted a little too tannic for a merlot, and I'm guessing a year or two (?) would bring smoothness to it. I decanted it 2+ hours before we had it, and it was still rough. The nose was clear after 3 hours; with berries and chocolate perceptible with patience. If I had not eaten something with this wine I don't think I would be so exuberant.

I would buy this wine again
Alot of people don't realise who Christian Moueix is. He is the maker of Petrus which sells for thousands per bottle and Dominus in the hundreds. How offen do you find a value like this from the maker of such prestigous wines around the world.

Taste is very good, but the body is a bit weak... All In all its a good cheap wine that goes well with a good cheap chinese food plate of bourbon chicken...

Suprised of how smooth this wine was. My girlfriend and I had it with a steak dinner and thought the wine was at least $40 plus dollars a bottle. Great wine for a great price.

Wonderful by the case; light, smooth finish.

Had a bottle in Vegas. Excellent merlot - good body, lots of red fruit on the nose. Went well with the prime rib!
A Customer - Boulder, CO
This is an excellent wine, surprising for the price.
A Customer - Colorado Spgs, CO
Recommended to me by an acquaintance who grew up in France. The wine is great as a stand alone or with a variety of meals. It is medium bodied and has a nice balance of fruits and oak. Additionally, the price is exceptional. It just goes to show that you don't have to take out a second mortgage to enjoy a great bottle of wine!

Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.
Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
