Winemaker's Notes

Chateau du Gaby wines are known for their finesse, concentration and excellent balance of acidity and tannin. While the wines age beautifully over 5-20 years, for those without the patience to wait, they typically begin to show their great charm after 3-4 years.

Critical Acclaim

"Still very primal, but enticing, with sappy raspberry, sweet spice, melted licorice and linzer torte notes that have yet to stretch out fully. There's racy acidity as well, so this should knit nicely.

Learn About Chateau du Gaby

Chateau du Gaby is a stunning, historic chateau perched on top of a sloping limestone plateau and facing south over the river Dordogne. The chateau is surrounded by its own park and 16 hectares of rolling vineyards where low wooded hills and the lazy meanderings of the Dordogne meet. Lovingly restored, the interior of the chateau reflects the beauty of Bordeaux's prettiest countryside in which it is located.

The wines are quite similar, with Canon-Fronsac having a slightly different soil than Fronsac. They are another example of good-value Bordeaux, benefiting from close proximity to the river and good soils similar to their southern...
