The color is a deep red. The nose has a complex range of aromas, including red berry fruit, leather, truffles and musk. Flavors revolve around pepper, licorice and other spices.

I had an older bottle of this in 2004 and LOVED it. It was one of the bottles that truly inspired me to delve more deeply into wine appreciation, and also came to represent feelings of love to me. This vintage, however, was anything but inspiring, or even meaningful commemoration of the original experience.
