winemaker's notes:

Whispering Angel is a blend of Grenache, Rolle, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvedre grapes. Strikingly pale pink in color, the aromas are fresh and fruity. On the palate, it is bone dry through the finish. The name really suits the delicate nature of this wine.

If not simply drinking Whispering Angel on its own, pair it with lightly grilled steaks, salmon, other fish dishes and salads, as well as cheese. Fabulous with modern cuisine.

Check out this clip from the popular NBC sitcom, "Up All Night," with Maya Rudolph, as it showcases the Whispering Angel Rose:

critical acclaim:

"This elegant wine displays a sense of power behind the delicate flavors of dried cherry, licorice, cream and spice. Finishes with notes of dried mango and hints of sage honey."

Wine Spectator

"Light peach skin color. Intensely perfumed aromas of redcurrant, strawberry, blood orange and rhubarb, with suave floral and mineral overtones. This lively, precise wine offers tangy citrus and red berry flavors and a silky texture. Finishes tangy and precise, with very good energy and lingering florality. In the context of this estate's high-end offerings, which are all excellent, this is a steal."

Taste terrible if you like sweet wines.

rating (7/30/2012):
I'm a rose junkie, especially when it comes to French rose. I admit I'll take a Tavel any day and twice on Sunday, but this wine gives a bit more heft than the typical lighter-bodied wines of Provence. Lots of fruit, floral and mineral characteristics, typical to the region, but it's the texture that gets me! I love that it has this silky rich texture that balances the super bright acidity. Delicious all around - on its own or with food.

One of the absolute best roses I've ever had. Highly recommend!
