Winemaker's Notes

"This finely poised Cabernet brings out the best of Washing State, forward but never over the line. Its dark and generous cassis aromas are accented by mocha, while a mineral tension allows the wine to retain finess. For leg of lamb."
-Wines & Spirits

"The Indian Wells Cabernet is our warm climate ripe, jammy Cabernet. The 2005 bottling is no exception. The wine exudes sweet blackberry pie and vanilla aromas and flavors with loads of complexity. This is our big bold, obvious Cabernet and after just two vintages, it has quickly become a fan favorite. Wonderful Cab from such esteemed growers as Indian Wells, Jones, Washington Fruit and even Cold Creek Vineyard are woven together with a little Syrah to make a wine that says boldly 'I'm from Washington."

Meant to enjoy in its youth, try it with shish kabobs, a flat iron steak or even with a nibble of dark chocolate."
- Bob Bertheau, Winemaker

I've tasted previous vintages of the Indian Wells and always found them very reliable. This 2005 is no exception. Beautiful color (deep garnet) and subtle nose of violets and cherries. Wonderful on the palate and with a good finish. I'll save the other 5 I purchased, as another 1-3 years would enhance the experience.

Beautiful round ripe fruit with a vanilla oak structure. Medium body and rewards with long flavors. Somewhat soft mouthfeel with enough tannin to finish elegantly. Does not overpower. Will be buying more!

Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
