Planted by vineyard manager Mimi Nye in 1991, our vineyard at Canoe Ridge Estate has grown before our eyes to produce more concentrated and opulent wines. This wine shows amazing intensity to go with ripe black cherry fruit. The Canoe Ridge Estate Cab is a beautifully balanced wine that is a classic expression of Washington fruit.

FOOD PAIRING: venison, pork, beef.

"Bright medium ruby. Cassis, blackberry, graphite, mint, dark chocolate and licorice on the nose, with a slightly jammy quality emerging with aeration. Sweet, silky and gently concentrated, with a pliant texture and lovely depth to the berry, mint and chocolate flavors. Rich and impeccably balanced, with nothing forced about it. This sweet, graceful wine spreads out to coat the palate without communicating any undue weight. The tannins are at once fine-grained and firm."

very nice merlot. decant an hour before drinking. the nose opened up nicely, with lots of jammy fruits, mint, minerals, and spices. complex without overwhelming the palate. this wine is fairly dry with good tannins and acid, giving it some weight and balance.
