Chateau St. Jean La Petite Etoile Fume Blanc 2009 is 100% Sauvignon Blanc with enticing aromas of lemongrass, green tea and sweet smoky notes open this wine on the nose. Bright flavors of kiwi fruit and lemon citrus linger on the palate of this well-structured wine. Vibrant acidity gives a fresh and crisp finish with lingering spice notes on the back palate.
"My favorite (but only marginally so) is one of their classics, the 2009 Fume Blanc La Petite Etoile. I expect discounters to sell this for $15-17. It is an intense wine with notes of lime oil intermixed with lemon blossom, fig, grapefruit and melons. Medium-bodied, rich, and fruity, it should drink nicely for another 1-2 years."
