The wine has an attractive, dark red color shading to orange at the rim and a nose that displays fine humus and leather aromas mingled with forward blackberry fruit, liquorice and black cherry. Round and elegant on the palate, without being particularly powerful, it combines notes of torrefaction, vanilla, caramel and coffee with a very gentle, perfectly integrated tannic structure. Harmonious, fresh and pleasantly long, the finish asserts itself with character and definite charm in a vintage generally reckoned to be not easy.
