20 Mille is produced from a 1.4-hectare section of the Croix Mouton vineyard. The chateau takes its name from the fact it's planted 20,000 vines per hectare. Produced from 100% Merlot, this round textured wine shows aromas of accented, dark jammy fruit, licorice, and chocolate. 50% of the wine is aged in the cigar shaped barrels.
"Full and very chewy, showing smoky berry and vanilla bean character, with coffee. Almost bitter, but beautiful. Lacks a bit midpalate, but there's impressive tannin structure. This is the first year of this tiny production. Best after 2010. 350 cases made."
