"A massive Pauillac, the 2000 Clerc-Milon (a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot) displays zesty acidity, high tannin, and impressive levels of extract as well as richness. Its dense plum/purple color is followed by sweet aromas of smoke, coffee, blackberries, barbecue spices, and licorice. The attack is sweet, but then the tannin kicks in as does the wine's surprising acidity. Full, powerful, and long, it will require patience, atypical for Clerc-Milon. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2025."
