Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

A splendid Bordeaux color with blackish tinges, it shows no signs of development. The aromas are powerful, vinous and warm with scents of jammy black fruit, black pepper and orange zest. It is a dense, lightly-knit and concentrated wine that gives a long, spicy finish. It possesses tremendous aging potential.

Critical Acclaim

"Really concentrated on the nose, with coffee, blackberry and vanilla aromas. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins and loads of fruit. This is very extracted, but it works. Slightly hollow midpalate, but should fill out with age."

Learn About Chateau Cap De Mourlin

In 1983, Jacques Capdemourlin pieced together this vineyard, which for many years had been divided between his father and uncle. Considerable renovation work was carried out to equip the estate with the most up-to-date technology for wine-making and maturing (construction of a new vat house, creation of an air-conditioned area for malolactic fermentations and barrel storehouse).

The wines of Chateau Cap de Mourlin always endeavor to convey the excellence of their terroir.
