Our 2009 Mountain Cuvee shows the appealing depth and nuance of a true Bordeaux blend. The aromas offer a complex mélange of spicy red fruit, rum raison, cedar, sweet tobacco, clove, cinnamon, dark chocolate and bay leaf. On the palate, the texture is smooth and lush, with lingering flavors of sweet cherry and plum. Though there is ample weight and richness, elegance is really the theme of this complex and balanced wine.
56%, Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec
"Combines ripe, fleshy plum and black cherry fruit with a rustic edge of cedar and tannins. Complex and well-made, this lacks the depth and richness of the other Chappellet Cabernets, yet it's more affordable and widely available. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Drink now through 2021. 15,900 cases made."
