critical acclaim:
"The 2007 Ermitage La Sizeranne displays a similar deep ruby/purple-tinged color in addition to sweet aromas of raspberries, black currants, smoke, gun flint, and spice. This full-bodied, well-made wine reveals outstanding richness, purity, and overall balance. Consume it over the next 15-20 years. Range: 90-93 "

The Wine Advocate
"Chapoutier's most basic Hermitage, this is showy and succulent without being blowsy in the least. The fruit is black and red, juicy and alive, generous yet underlined by firm, savory earthiness and a supple leather note. While it may be hard to resist now, this is built to last: Best to wait at least until 2015."

Wine & Spirits
"Mature, with soft, fleshy, open-knit damson plum, raspberry sauce and mulled black cherry fruit notes backed by modest grip and a lingering black tea note on the finish. Drink now through 2014. 250 cases imported."

Wine Spectator
"Chapoutier's largest Hermitage cuvée is rich and almost fudge-like in 2007, yet at the same time isn’t at all sweet or confected. Notes of sweaty leather, dried cherries and chocolate are framed by silky tannins. Drink now–2020."
