The Coudoulet de Beaucastel Rouge is made from Grenache (30%), Mourvedre (30%), Syrah (20%) and Cinsault (20%). Each varietal is harvested separately, by hand, to assure optimum maturity and vinified separately to maintain its own unique character.
The different grape varieties are then blended after malo-lactic fermetation. The blend is aged in large oak casks for 6 months, and bottling follows fining with egg-white.
A deep ruby red color. The nose evokes aromas of red fruit, blackberries, black cherries and licorice. In the mouth one finds hints of wild thyme and a finely structured wine that shows very good length.
