1999 saw cool early summer temperatures which led to our thinning the crop to ensure ripening. However September and October saw moderately warm temperatures allowing extra hang time creating a well-balanced crop. This, combined with the vintage's small berry size, resulted in grapes brimming with intense flavor and complexity. Inviting chocolate aromas blend with spiced cherry notes. This wine is rich and full with mouth-filling flavors of clove, vanilla and allspice and has a structure with substantial backbone for aging. Serve with beef, grilled salmon, lamb and strongly flavored cheeses.
