Ceretto Zonchera Barolo 2001

Ceretto Barolo Zonchera is a relatively light garnet color, with a pronounced and approachable nose of ripe redcurrant fruit with textbook notes of violets overlaid with a tarry earth and mineral character that is typical of the region. On the palate it is full-bodied, showing tannic strength without being astringent, good acidity, moderate alcohol and a long finish.

This is a silky, stylish wine, that is true to its roots – typifying the best Piedmonte tradition without being old-fashioned. It marries perfectly with the most robust and full-bodied dishes and strongly flavored cheeses.
