winemaker's notes:

The 2004 Catena Cabernet Sauvignon presents a deep, dark violet color with reddish hues. The nose offers intense, focused aromas of ripe cassis and black currant fruit intertwined with notes of tobacco, cedar, and a touch of eucalyptus. The mouthfeel is full and concentrated with layers of rich black berry flavors and elements of frosted mint, espresso and graphite.

I would buy this wine again

This wine is dray - but not too, has a pleasing taste and is great with any red meat dinner. Truly enjoyed it.

I would buy this wine again

I found this Cab to be everything a Cab should be. The nose was classic Cab. It was delightful with a roast. Try it!

I would buy this wine again

I can't seem to use the "comments" feature to directly reply to the review below, but I wanted to chime in again after reading it since it suggests a very different experience from the one I had. I was a bit surprised to see a mention of weak tannins. It's been nearly a month, but I remember this wine well -- and I think the tannins were hardly weak. And while the nose was not typical of cabernets I've had before, I don't think it was weak either -- just different in the aromas it brought forth. I know the wine review experience is largely subjective, so my best advice is to give this one a try and see what you think.

nose weak, wine lacked depth for a cab, tanins weak, poor finish.

I would buy this wine again

I believe this is the first Argentinian wine I've had, and I am quite pleased. It's different from the California cabs I've had before but in a good and unique way. An expressive wine with a fruity yet earthy nose (perhaps the tobacco from the description?), a full and interesting taste, and a smooth and soft mouthfeel. I'm not an expert, but given the seemingly strong tannic structure, it could probably benefit from some aging.

A RED WINE WORTHY TO STAND UP TO THE BEST STEAKS AROUND. HERE IS A WINE THAT WON'T GET LOST WHEN PAIRING WITH A POWERFUL PIECE OF RED MEAT. STRONG AND STABLE.

A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.

Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
