"The 2007 Chianti Classico Riserva shows quite a bit of warmth and spiciness in its dark red fruit. This is an attractive, mid-weight Chianti but the vintage doesn’t seem to have produced fruit with enough depth to stand up to the French oak, which overpowers the wine and contributes to the dry tannins. Overall, I expected more from the 2007 Riserva. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019."
