winemaker's notes:

Color: The color is intense and the density is readily apparent.

Aroma: The bouquet provides an explosion of red fruit, blackberry, black cherry and vibrant notes of raspeberry. The oak aging contributes a toasted vanilla and balsamic-like element in the nose. Then, instead of dispersing, all the scents blend together to give greater complexity, precious wood and cedar notes.

Flavor: In the mouth, the first impression is density and volume. The wine is round, full and very concentrated. Slowly, a gentle tannic structure appears which provides the wine with a solid and well-structured character. The finish is long, velvety and silky.

"Once again, arguably the best wine in Chile is this beauty from what may eventually become recognized as a world-class site for red wines—the dry-farmed, old-vines Apalta Vineyard. Fermentation involving big wood vats and the utmost in human attention yields a pure, stately wine that’s equal parts power and finesse. Blendwise, it’s mostly Merlot, and the flavors are all about kirsch, plum liqueur and chocolate. Give it several years to fully blossom."

A Customer - Chile
This wine is a must try if you want to discover how chilean wine is developing. This wine is produced in steep slopes in the Apalta vineyards, by Michel Rolland. On the nose it delivers lots of juicy blackberries, with hints of cedar, coffe and a bit of dark chocolate. On the mouth it again delivers lots of black fruits, some spiciness, hints vanilla, chocolate and tobacco, full body and a long pleasant finish. The tannin structure is the best I´ve sampled in a wine from Chile. Ready to drink (decanting recomended), but will keep. Try also Almaviva, Domus Aurea, Carmen Wine Makers, Montes Folly.

Kosher wine
Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.

Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
