winemaker's notes:

"The 2004 Mas Donis Barrica is 85% Garnacha from 80+-year-old vines and 15% Syrah aged for 8 months in French and American oak. Opaque purple, it has a wonderfully expressive nose of spice box, pencil lead, pepper, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. On the palate the wine is full-bodied with layers of ripe, spicy black fruits, nicely concealed tannins, and a long, pure finish. It is an outstanding value for drinking now and over the next 4-6 years."

rating (9/29/2010):
This is an excellent value and a great wine. While it's not a complex wine it's very smooth with a mellow berry and slightly spiced taste. This is a great wine to serve to guests who appreciate a good wine or just drink with your meals.

Outstanding value from the wine, spicy, nice finish, Wine Advocate review was right on as to taste.
rating (9/28/2010):
This is a jewel of a wine as its quality far surpasses its price making it an excellent value. This Eric Soloman wine has a lovely blueberry nose with a touch of spice. On the palate it is medium bodied with strong fruit, blackberry with hints of pepper. Near perfect balance and a nice smooth finish make this Garnacha/Syrah blend exceptionally nice. I rate it an 84. This goes very well with a mild summer sausage and Jarlsberg Swiss and I suspect would compliment a good dark chocolate as well. For more reviews please visit www.drivebycritic.com

My wife and I both loved this wine. Ripe fruit, full body, complex, and smooth through a lingering finish.

Balanced round wine with old world style. A steal at this price.
