We have added the following products to your shopping cart from a previous visit:
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Capanna Brunello di Montalcino is an intense ruby color. This wine is velvety and mouth-filling with supple yet firm tannins.
"Capanna's offering in 2007 is extremely bold,
dark and opulent. Loads of aromatic momentum in the
form of blackberry, cherry liqueur, spice, leather, tobacco,
rum cake, cinnamon, vanilla bean and bitter chocolate
characterize the bouquet. The wine also shows a
soft, ripe, generous texture, yet remains well-contained
and balanced.Cellar Selection"
"Aromas of ripe raspberries and blueberries follow through to a full body, with a solid core of fruit and bright acidity. Dried lemon rind as well. This is a wine that needs a few years to open and show you what it truly has. Always serious. "
"The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is gorgeous in this vintage. Sweet red berries, flowers, mint, hard candy and licorice are some of the many notes that flow from this radiant, hugely expressive wine. The 2007 stands apart for its sensual, feminine personality and fabulous overall balance. High-toned floral notes waft from the glass on the sensual finish. There is just a touch of sweetness from the ripeness of the fruit. The 2007 was vinified in conical oak vats and aged in Slavonian oak casks for 40 months, a very traditional approach that works nicely here. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2027. Rating: 93+"
The Wine Advocate
"Good, full bright red. Very ripe but lively aromas of black cherry, licorice and menthol lifted by flowers and mint. A juicy, tight midweight with good medicinal reserve to its solid flavors of black and red cherry. Powerful (15% alcohol, according to the label) but not hot or tough. This firmly structured, classically styled Brunello finishes with substantial building, dusty tannins and very good lift. Built to age."

Tuscany is also home to the indigenous Italian grape variety, Sangiovese. Most of the wine coming from Tuscany is made from some clone of this...Read More About Tuscany
Sangiovese (SAHN-gee-oh-VAY-zee) Blood of Jove (literally translated) The principal grape of Chianti - in fact, the principle grape of all of Tuscany - has had its ups and downs. For a stint in the 70s and 80s, wines labeled Chianti contained cheap red wine packaged in a straw casked bottle, most popular for the candle holder it would become. But no more. Sangiovese re...Read More About Sangiovese
