This is a surprise under-rated wine from Puglia that will pair nicely with any rich red sauce or intensely-flavored meat (Roast boar would be great). Intense flavors, not a wimpy wine at all, and plenty of spice and a very good balance. We tasted and reviewed this wine on-air on 'Taste and Chat' and it was hard to surpress my delight. I was tempted to become a bit effusive about it, and it is certainly deserving of praise. After a re-tasting, I awarded this wine 92 points, certainly a 'best buy' at the price. I will make it a point to visit the Cantele winery on a future trip to southern Italy.
