Cakebread Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
Wine Style Guide
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
Alcohol By Volume: 14.4%
Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
Our 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon grabs the taster's attention immediately with enticingly fresh, fruit-forward aromas of black currant, blackberry and boysenberry, joined by seductive chocolate and roast coffee scents. Beautifully structured on the palate, it boasts intense, concentrated, dark berry and cassis flavors balanced by supple, well-knit tannins and a long, flavorful finish with fine acidity and savory mocha tones. Delightful to drink now, this rich, elegant Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon will blossom fully with another 5 to 7 years of bottle age.
"The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is among the finest "regular" Cabernet Sauvignons I have tasted from Cakebread. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, stunning purity, subtle notes of smoke, black currants, blackberries, spring flowers and toast, good acidity and ripe tannin. This full-bodied yet graceful, deep, silky Cabernet Sauvignon is already irresistible, but it will provide provocative and complex drinking for 15-20 years. This benchmark winery has again turned out some impressive wines."

Got to love this wine. I buy it every vintage and this is another great one. Wine.com is the best place to buy this wine because it is hard to find in your local stores. If you have thought about buying Cakebread in the past better order quick because it never lasts long on Wine.com.

Great value and awesome cab for 2007. We love it as Cakebread pays attention to what they do. You pay more but can expect quality

Not worth the cash. Only rated a 92, why twice as expensive as other 92s? Because they are riding on name for this one. I bought a few of these, couldnt tell the difference with $30 bottles. Need to eat with a nice steak, not casually by itself.

When he returned home that afternoon, the phone rang and it was the family friends offering to sell their property. He headed back up to the valley that same afternoon...

The area was settled by a few choice wine families in the 1960's who bet that the wines of the area would grow and flourish. They were right. The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard...

Learn About Cabernet Sauvignon
(cab-uhr-NAY sow-veeh-yawn) King of Red Many refer to Cabernet Sauvignon as the king of red grapes. Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
