winemaker's notes:

The weather in 2006 was excellent during spring and summer. The windy spring was positive for the quality of the grapes. The hail in December slightly decreased the yields of the Malbec. Deep purple-red color. Fruit driven wine, with appealing red and black cherries flavors, black plums, hint of mint and cedar. On the palate it has a nice tannic texture that is full and round. Notes of vanilla and tobacco coming from French oak. Nice to drink now or to be laid down.

"The 2006 Amancaya is composed of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Malbec aged for 12 months in French oak, 25% new. It offers an attractive bouquet of cedar, tobacco, damp earth, black cherry, red currants, and black currants. Supple, forward, ripe, and tasty, it conceals enough tannin to evolve for 2-3 years and will drink well through 2016."

I would buy this wine again
Decanter this young baby for about 30 minutes and you will have an excellent well rounded from front to finish smooth blended S.A. wine. I noticed the wine smelled like fresh milk when I aired the baby out. Get it.

smooth, flavorful, nice finish. W took this wine to a Brazilian grill and shared it with beef, lamb, chicken and sausage. Fantastic!

Kosher wine
Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.
Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
Green wine
Green Wines
Wines that use sustainable, organic and/or biodynamic practices in the vineyard and/or winemaking process. We rely on a number of U.S. and International certifications to qualify wines "green."
Collectible wine
Collectible
These wines will improve from additional bottle age, when properly stored, and may show the greatest potential to increase in value.

Great Wine Gifts
These selected wines make impressionable gifts for wine enthusiasts and oenophiles alike.

Boutique Wines
These wines are made in limited quantities and are typically produced from single vineyard sources or made by small, artisanal wineries. While the winery may produce larger quantities, we limit wines with this designation to a 1,000 case production.
