Brancott Terraces Estate Pinot Noir 2009

This wine is deep garnet red in colour with wonderfully fragrant ripe cherry and violet with spicy toast highlights and overlying complex, rich plum notes. The palate is characterised by sweet ripe cherry and plum fruit with spicy complexity and a generous mid palate. Firm yet silky tannins balance the concentration of flavour yielding to a smooth, chocolate finish.

Given this wine's peerless structure, it will continue to improve for some number of years before reaching its full potential. Its fine structure and intense concentration make it an ideal match for a wide range of foods. It will match well with porcini or field mushroom pasta or risotto. The richness also lends itself to rare venison, grilled ostrich or a variety of slow-cooked game meat casseroles such as rabbit or fowl with winter vegetables.
