This is one delicious wine. It's soft and supple in the mouth and on the nose, but there is depth, complexity and firm structure here. It goes well with red meat and garlic. We've had it with grilled lamb and with beef rubbed with olive oil, garlic, fennel seeds and pepper. Yum. I would not be so high on this wine at the full price of $80 a bottle. There's an awful lot of great wine out there when you get into that neighborhood. But it's been on sale pretty regularly for half that, and it is killer for that kind of money. Buy more than one; you're going to wish you had more.
