winemaker's notes:
Boutari Moschofilero (mo-sko-FEEL-ero) is a premium white wine made from 100% Moschofilero grapes grown in high elevation vineyards in the AOC region of Mantinia in the Peloponnese.
For years Boutari Moschofilero has been an important selling white wine in Greece and, until recently, a virtual unknown in the United States. The Boutari winery's vinification of Moschofilero is a breakthrough for Greek wines...and it just might be the start of the next white wine revolution!
This is a fresh white wine with intense floral (white rose) and fruity (melon and citrus trees) aromas.
"Boutari crafted a beautiful wine from Moschofilero in 2004. It's deceptively light at first, the floral notes beguilingly simple. Then it deepens into honeysuckle notes that wrap around an apricot core, a touch of bitterness joining acidity to refresh the palate."

if by "greek flavour" my fellow texan means retsina then that is totally wrong: no one in a double-blind test would pick this as "greek". it is very close to good gascogne with slightly more acidity. a little over-priced locally, still great on hot days with spicy chinese food. far better than most boutari.

This wine has an amazing aroma, but is actually lacking in flavor. If you have it with spicy or otherwise taste-ful food, it will work wonderfully. It's subtle flavor will complement your meal. But don't expect much if you drink it by itself!

This wine was beyond expectation. Very smooth and tasty. Had the greek flavor, but the fruity taste was very well blended to make you satisfied. My female guests commented on how good it was and wanted to know where to get it.
