Nice cherry color. Very expressive nose with aromas of mocha, black cherry, tobacco associated to a toasted note and balsamico. In the mouth it is very open, unctuous and mineral, with lots of plum and red fruit flavors. It is a blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is aged for 16 months in 35% new Allier barrels and the rest in one and two year old Allier barrels.
"Bright red. Intense red berry aromas are complemented by minerals, baking spices and fresh rose. Supple raspberry and cherry flavors are firmed by dusty tannins and given grip by tangy minerals. Sappy and sweet on the persistent finish, which leaves subtle oak spices behind. This is drinking very nicely right now. Michel Tardieu, of Rhone Valley renown, is behind this project; this is the inaugural vintage."
