Bodega Norton Malbec Reserva 1999
Malbec
from Argentina, South America
winemaker's notes:
Intense red color with purple hue. This wine shows complex aromas of ripe plum, black berries and regaliz with black pepper and spicy nuances. Round and meaty, great concentration and superbly structurated and balanced in the mouth. Harmonious in its long and appealing finish.

This has always been one of my favorites on wine.com.
Lately (2003), I have started to notice these (1999) Reserve bottles to pick up more Earth flavors. I suggest bringing any out of storage and trying now.
I believe this "Bodega Norton 1999 Malbec Reserve" is at a top stage right now.

We served this at a holiday party and feel that it was well received by our guests. They loved the bold favor and excellent aroma.

This one right here was so much fun this evening that I had to stop by and post a quick review, to alert other buyers when a good one pops up like this. The price is very well worth it on this one. In my mouth it feels like velvet and it has such a wonderful and fairly strong oak flavor (among many other facinating flavors), that I was instantly in admiration. This one is a marvel. Love mid-full body cabernet? You will love this one. At this price, I think other wine fans better start ordering this one up before I order and cellar as many cases of this one as I can get my hands on. :) Well, just kidding sort of. But I will be adding a full case of this one to my next order. I first tried it with my own recipe of hand battered Texas Gulf jumbo shrimp deep fried in peanut oil with lemon lime horseradish sauce. I have a good variety of other meals in mind to pair this Malbec with like a charm. I think it is a precious one. While it is a South American wine (Argentina) if I ever found it on a wine menu I would not hesitate to pay $45 a bottle. Try it yourself and see what you think. Do enjoy.
