Wine Spectator
Gorgeous from the start, delivering mulled spice, mocha, blueberry, black tea, plum sauce and warm currant confiture aromas and flavors all woven together, carried by a long spice- and graphite-filled finish. This has weight, but stays driven thanks to finely beaded acidity. A beauty. The best vintage yet for this wine. Malbec. Drink now through 2022. 275 cases made.

A dynamite Malbec with heavy oak and the structure and foundation to match it. Lemon, hickory, leather, marzipan and black fruit aromas are powerful. In the mouth, tannins and extract create a vise grip to frame concentrated blackberry, coconut, pepper and lemon peel flavors. Layered and woody on the finish. Drink from 2012 through 2016.

Most distinguished and celebrated from Argentina’s Mendoza, Malbec has seen runaway success since the early 2000s. Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. This grape is easy to like for its lusty, deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum, red cherry, autumn spice and tilled earth. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
