Wine Spectator
Dark, complex and inviting, with palate-coating crushed plum, wild berry and cassis notes woven with layers of sandalwood, graphite and grilled herbs. Well-structured, with fine tannins on the long finish. Malbec, with a touch Merlot. Drink now through 2020.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2011 J Alberto has a rich, decadent bouquet of macerated red cherries, dark chocolate, heather and crushed rose petals. The palate is lush and fresh on the entry, with pure, mineral-rich red berry fruit laced with citrus peel and orange zest. It is very well-defined and harmonious, with a caressing finish that retains fine poise and focus. Excellent.

Wine & Spirits
As juicy as a malbec can be, this vibrates with red fruit that leaps over the tongue with youthful energy. It's cool, approachable and deliciously spicy. Ready to drink, this wine has enough acidity to stand the test of time. J. Alberto is a selection from vines planted in 1955.

Most distinguished and celebrated from Argentina’s Mendoza, Malbec has seen runaway success since the early 2000s. Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. This grape is easy to like for its lusty, deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum, red cherry, autumn spice and tilled earth. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
