Winemaker's Notes

The base wine is matured in oak barrels for a period of 18 months,10 months as a pure varietal and 8 months as a Blend. The remainder (Malbec) is wine that is aged during 8 months in barrels until the final cut of Don Tiburcio is created.

Benegas house Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and merlot, plus an incorporation of Malbec

Color: Shiny with combined shades of purple from the Malbec and touches of ruby typical of cask wines. Aroma: Predomination of mature red fruits and a touch of chocolate vanilla provided by the Blend. Taste: Intense, fruited, with soft tannins and an impressive and persistent finale.

Critical Acclaim

"It reveals aromas of cedar, clove, cinnamon, and black cherry. Elegant, medium-bodied, and layered on the palate, it has plenty of savory, spicy fruit, 2-3 years of aging potential, and excellent length."
