The wine is a lively, dense, ruby red color. It has intensely perfumed fruit characters and is brambly with ripe black cherry. There are slight hints of cinnamon spiciness and light mocha. The juicy, fleshy palate finishes with ripe tannins.
The winemakers, Chris Ringland, Lisa Wetherall and Baz Hercock wanted to convey the expression of Shiraz from different soil types. With Boarding Pass they crafted a Shiraz that portrays the aromatic profile of Shiraz fruit expression that comes from sandier soils. This Shiraz combines power and fruit weight with heightened aromatic complexity.
