Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Medium to full bodied dry red. Flavours of dark berries, anise and mint. Toasty oak integrates nicely. Smooth soft tannins, juicy fleshy palate, round flavorsome finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Ripe, focused and distinctive, with a smoky edge to the jammy blackberry and pepper flavors, persisting nicely. Drink now through 2014. 7,000 cases imported."
89 Points

"Deep red. Cherry-vanilla and baking spices on the nose, with bright floral and mineral notes adding energy. Broad and lush, offering creamy dark berry and cherry flavors and supple tannins. Finishes soft and persistent. This sappy, generous shiraz is ready to drink."
