With 7,000 cases imported, you should be able to find this stellar Sauv Blanc fairly easily. Aromas of sweet grass, gooseberry and pineapple acidity draw you in immediately, while flavors of ripe stone fruit carry through to the clean but not aggressive finish. Lightweight and linear but not meaningless, with a hint of peach pit nuttiness lingering on the close.

Beyond wines are the second label fo the well-established Buitenverwachting winery in South Africa. When you manage to get your tongue around it, Buitenverwachting (pronounced bay-ten-fur-vachk-ting) is Dutch for "beyond expectation." Nestled at the base of the imposing Constantia Mountain, it’s just a few miles from the azure blue of False Bay. The farm’s history dates back to 1773, but in 1982, the property was extensively renovated and replanted, and now produces some of the Cape’s most classical wines. Beyond expectation, indeed.
