"Beringer has backed off the quantity of oak used in the Chardonnay Sbragia Limited Release, and the 2008 is all the better for it. Subtle pain grille and smoke notes are accompanied by opulent tropical fruit, buttered brioche, roasted nuts, and plenty of citrus oil and honeysuckle notes. It should drink nicely for 3-4 years."

"Bright yellow. Slightly exotic aromas of pineapple, minerals and cr e me br u lee Rich-verging-on-unctuous, with considerable flavor intensity but a restrained sweetness. This seems unusually closed at this stage but has the density and concentration to reward a couple years of patience. The lots that go into this bottling are chosen for richness, notes winemaker Laurie Hook."
