The results of an excellent harvest and Ed's winemaking techniques are combined in this wine to offer multiple layers of rich lemon, pear and butterscotch flavors with added hints of nutmeg and toast.

Beringer Private Reserve Chardonnay is known for being consistently rich, full-bodied and creamy. Winemaker Ed Sbragia produced this dynamite wine by selecting blocks from five of Beringer's vineyards located in the cool southern end of the Napa Valley. These vineyards provide grapes with appealing texture and rich, broad fruit character. The juice was then tasted hours and days following the harvest and selections were then made for the Private Reserve program. Big and bold, with lots of flavor and body, this food-friendly wine is well paired with scallops or poached salmon with beurre blanc. 8,000 cases produced. Chart as of February 2000 .
