Our estate vineyards in Napa Valley contribute a palette of varietal characteristics that shape and reshape themselves each year into our Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. When I create the blend, I look for flavors, textures and structures that will, in combination, produce a wine with up front, explosive layers of fruit and oak, and that will preserve the wine's complexity and flavor over many years. I believe the 1993 vintage, with its high proportion of mountain fruit, will fulfill this promise.
