Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2001
Cabernet Sauvignon
from Sonoma County, California
winemaker's notes:
A full mouth of fruit that is sweet, round and complex which is supported by nice acidity and supple ripe tannins, this Cabernet Sauvignon highlights Knights Valley's characteristically bright cherry fruit and sweet vanilla oak and pie spice aromas.
"This deep, juicy cabernet could define the Beringer style, a lot of fruit crafted with a lot of oak into a statesmanlike détente. From Knights Valley, the fruit is pure black currant, the oak age bringing out spice, a creamy richness to the texture, a solid structure. The flavor of those tiny round black berries is the flavor that lasts."
-Wines & Spirits
Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon grapes get to the maturities we were looking for and the resulting wine shows the difference in more layers of aromas, full-mouthed fruit flavors and wonderfully supple tannins.

Definitely a great cab. If you like 'em a little drier, then this is the one. I prefer a little smoother and I like the Robert Mondavi 2003 Napa Valley Cabernet a bit more for that reason. Can't go wrong with either though.

I'm no wine expert, but I do know when I have come across a great wine! This wine is so full, fruity, dry, and soooo smooth. decanting this wine adds further to its flavor and just develops it to its full potential. For the price it can not be beat!!

Had this bottle last night with lamb. The boquet of this wine is wonderful. This wine is very well balanced. Great Dark cherry and earthy flavors. Has a velvety texture and nice finish. For a wine with such a big taste it is very smooth. A great wine for around 20 dollars.
